"Wholesale Distributors Wirtz Beverage Minnesota, formerly Griggs Cooper & Co., was founded in 1882 as a distributor of grocery products to stores in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and other states in the upper midwest. When prohibition was repealed in 1933, the Company formed a liquor and wine division to service the states of Minnesota and North Dakota.
