Wirtz Beverage Minnesota, formerly Griggs Cooper & Co., was founded in 1882 as a distributor of grocery products to stores in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and other states in the upper midwest. When prohibition was repealed in 1933, the Company formed a liquor and wine division to service the states of Minnesota and North Dakota. Over the last 25 years, the Company has developed into one of the largest wine and spirits distributors in the upper midwest.
