MLBA Electronic Gambling Seminar Feedback

Fellow Bar Owners,

My partner Dan Dahlin and I recently attended an educational seminar at Howie’s Bar in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. The topic was gaming in our bars, the mood was optimistic and the speaker was informative. Tom Barrett head of gambling and alcohol for the state gave an in depth presentation of the specific games and systems that Governor Dayton has recently signed into law. Frank Ball exec of the MLBA, Tony and the staff at Howie’s provided the hospitality and the crowd of approximately fifty industry leaders provided the energy.

The games will work and they are the first break the industry has received in my memory. I experienced going from 19 year old liquor to 21, I suffered through .08 and its impact, I fought the smoking ban along with many of you and lost and I know we recently dodged the bullet on a variety of sales taxes targeted at the Hospitality Industry.

Our elected officials driven by the need to finance a sports stadium have given us an opportunity for a new activity in our businesses, they want it to work and if it works we will prosper. The games success and our cash flow are dependent on our creativity, ingenuity and understanding of the games and our guests. Think promotion of the games, staff training on how to use the units and be sure to attend Mr. Barrett’s MLBA sponsored educational seminar in your area.
