The Minnesota Grocers Association and the Minnesota Service Station & Convenience Store Association are ramping up their efforts to allow their outlets to sell strong beer, wine and spirits in the very near future. This is clear as they testified last legislative session in two informational hearings in the House of Representatives and the Senate Commerce Committees. This has been their desire for many years. However, the link to a Johns Hopkins study clearly indicates that by increasing the number of outlets that sell alcohol, violent crimes increase.
