DESCRIPTION:Dear MLBA members\, \nOnce again\, the MLBA will be partnering with the MMBA on our annual “Day at the Capitol” event. This year\, we’ll be meeting on Wednesday\, February 27. \nAgenda for Wednesday\, February 27: \n\n11:00 AM: Legislative Briefing at the State Office Building\, Room 300 North\n12:00 PM: Lunch (provided)\n12:30: PM – 4:00 PM: Individual legislative meetings and various speakers in SOB 300 North (we will schedule for you!)\n4:00 PM: Tasting Reception with political and industry leaders at the Best Western – Capitol Ridge NEW LOCATION\, NEXT TO THE CAPITOL\, (the former Kelly Inn)\n\nRegister today by clicking here. \nI can’t express the importance and urgency that you attend this year. We have a new governor\, and nearly a third of the members of the Minnesota House of Representatives will be new\, along with a new Commerce Committee Chair. (A full election recap from the MLBA is here.)  Proponents of wine and beer in grocery and convenience stores continue their fight for alcohol everywhere. In addition\, many want to give unprecedented and unfair regulatory advantages to a select few – production breweries and distilleries – at the direct expense of small and family-owned liquor retailers in favor of de-regulation of the liquor industry and the three-tier system. \nWe remain vigilant on minimum wage\, tax\, and gambling issues which will take on a larger statewide discussion in 2019.  We can’t become complacent. We must continue to be active in the legislative arena\, and we need everyone’s help.
