2024 MLBA Legislative Day held Monday, February 26th

Photos from the Event:

The annual Legislative Day at the Capitol for the Minnesota Licensed Beverage Association and Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association was held on a sunny warm winter day on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Attendees met in the basement of the historic State Capitol building where a legislative briefing was held by members of our Government Relations team. Issues this year were focused on but not limited to:

  • A bill to get rid of 3.2 beer and let anyone with a 3.2 license sell any strength beer.
  • A bill that would make all retailers become redemption centers for bottles and cans deposits.
  • A bill that would modify the Paid Family and Medical Leave insurance definitions and premium rates as well as allowing small employers to voluntarily participate.
  • A bill that would remove the prohibition on banning merchant bags and another would permit persons that are 17 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Plus many more issues and concerns for us during this 2024 Legislative Session.
