MLBA Hall of Fame Member Passes

Jeff Van Schoick, a 2002 inductee into the MLBA Hospy Hall of Fame passed away August 26th at his home. Jeff was 69 and had been battling pancreatic cancer for the last 4 years. He was born in Rahway, NJ, and moved to Minnesota to attend college at Hamline University, graduating in 1970.

He spent most of his career in the hospitality industry working in sales and management positions for Johnson Brothers, Brown-Forman, and most recently Pabst Brewing Company until his retirement a few years ago. Van Schoick was a fixture at MLBA events such as Midwest Expo, the Spring Conference and the Golf Outing as a representative of Brown-Forman and Pabst.

MLBA Executive director Tony Chesak noted, “Jeff was a good friend and taught me a lot about the industry and about life. He will be greatly missed not only by myself but all who new him in the beverage industry.”

There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, August 31, 2pm at Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Mpls. Arrangements with Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel. Reception to follow, from 3:30 – 5:30pm at BLVD Kitchen and Bar; 11544 Wayzata Blvd in Minnetonka.
