Former MLBA Lobbyist Sarah Janecek Passed Away 1/12

Sarah Janecek, an influential Minnesota political commentator, writer and strategist who embraced the GOP but was respected across party lines, died Friday, January 12th while on vacation in South America. Janecek, along with her business parter Wy Spano, were the chief lobbying team for the MLBA from 1999 – 2002. She was well known as the editor of the Politics in Minnesota newsletter and as publisher of the Politics in Minnesota state directory.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Scott, the son of broadcaster Ray Scott. Bill died in 1998. She is survived by a brother and a sister and 4 stepchildren. Services are pending.
