Members, the Minnesota House is voting today on House File 2, which imposes a government-run Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program. The bill will impose:
- $1.5 Billion Payroll Tax on small businesses, family farms, workers, and more.
- Mandates that small businesses allow all employees to take up to nearly 6 months off per year for covered circumstances.
The bill has a one size fits all approach mandating paid leave whether the business has 10,000 full time employees or 1 part time employee.
The bill is expected to pass along party lines. Next step will be the Senate where the DFL holds just a one vote majority.
