New Edible Cannabinoid Product Complaint Form available
The law that legalized adult use of cannabis in Minnesota includes regulations that address the public health and safety protections for edible cannabinoid products (lower-potency hemp edible products) sold in the state.
The law transferred regulatory authority of these products from the Board of Pharmacy to the Office of Medical Cannabis at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). As part of the transition of this work to MDH, the Office of Medical Cannabis has created a new form to submit a complaint regarding a product manufacturer, distributor, or retailer. This form should be used going forward, instead of the previous version created by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy.

Guidance from the Department of Revenue posted
This week, the Minnesota Department of Revenue issued guidance about the new cannabis tax. If you sell certain edible cannabinoid products and nonintoxicating topical products, you must register and remit tax for sales starting on July 1, 2023.

Registration reminder for businesses
By Oct. 1, 2023, all establishments (including exclusive liquor stores) that sell edible cannabinoid products containing THC, CBD, or both, must register with the State of Minnesota. The Office of Medical Cannabis is preparing the registration form, with plans to have the form available by Aug. 1, 2023. There will be no cost to register.
OMC will use the contact information provided in the registration form to keep businesses updated about regulations and future licensing.
After Oct. 1, 2023, the sale of edible cannabinoid products by a business not registered is prohibited.
