MN Court of Appeals Rejects Lawsuit to Void Executive Orders

The MN Court of Appeals has just announced that they dismissed a lawsuit from the business community against Gov Walz. Judges say that his Exec Orders are not subject to review by the court. The business owners claimed that Walz was violating their constitutional rights with his closure orders.

A group of small businesses had filed suit accusing Walz of violating their equal-protection rights by forcing them to close when big box stores were allowed to stay open.

Tuesday afternoon, May 26, 2020, appeals court judges said the governor’s executive orders under a peacetime emergency are not subject to their review. They did not weigh in on the constitutional claim.
