Former MLBA Board Member Brian O’Reilly Passes

Brian Richard O’Reilly, age 66, of Oakdale, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Brian was a liquor store owner at Rice Creek Liquor in Shoreview and an MLBA board member from 2004 until he sold the store in 2008. He then went on to manage BP Liquor in Brooklyn Park for his good friend and fellow board member Jim Barber until Jim’s retirement in 2012. Brian continued to manage the store for the new owner’s of Brooklyn Park Liquor Barrel until his health declined recently.

Brian O’Reilly also served as President of the Board for the MLBA Children’s Fund charity from 2007 to 2015 and won the 2004 MLBA Package Store of the year award.

Brian is survived by his wife, Gayle O’Reilly; his mother, Nancy O’Reilly; his daughters, Amanda (Cari) O’Reilly, Cherry (Brett) Cournoyer, and April (John) Huseby-Kelcher; sister, Mary Beth (Dean) Sitz; brothers, Kevin (Susan) O’Reilly and Matthew (Susan) O’Reilly; grandchildren, Carter, Caden, Dakota, and Andi; niece, Shannon; and nephews, Douglas, Sean, Evan, Colin, and Andrew.
