Marijuana Legalization Bill Entered

At a press conference on 1/5/23, the Minnesota House and Senate sponsors of a revised legalization bill were joined by leaders of each chamber as well as advocates to preview the legislation, which largely aligns with an earlier measure that passed the House in 2021.

The bill has provisions to allow the sale of THC edibles and beverages (that passed last year) to be sold in liquor stores. This includes an addition to Statute 340A.412 subd. 14 “What an exclusive liquor store may sell in MN.” The proposed bill also has provisions to allow those with a liquor license to allow the consumption of these edibles and beverages on premises.
